Respect

At Green Island School during the Year 7 and 8 years the social and emotional intelligences are explicitly taught. The adults in the school respect the new statue of these students as leaders of the school and their growing capabilities as young adults. The strong relationship each child has built continue to grow and develop with them. The knowledge the staff have of each group of learners allows staff to meet the needs and interests of all students. Our students are a great source of pride to us; every student is known well as an individual.

Academic Education
Strong Numeracy and Literacy programmes are run in our classrooms and remain a focus. Personalised learning can begin immediately, as prior learning and assessment information carries seamlessly through the school from each learner’s previous years at our school. Past teachers continue to be available to students and a part of their learning life. These connections are not possible in an intermediate environment.

Additional interesting and complex learning experiences are a part of the Year 7 and 8 programme such as:
