Bannockburn Central Otago Camp

IMG_20220214_183417In Year 6 all students stay in Bannockburn in Central Otago for a week-long camp. Students explore our unique wider environment, learning about life for Mana Whenua and Early Settlers, including the contribution of the Chinese to these areas. Students have a go at gold mining, and using various technology used on the sites; appreciating the human effort required to find gold. The students will challenge themselves to try new things with the support of their teachers, friends and any parents brave enough to join them.

IMG_20220216_103941We stay at Bannockburn Camp (the old school); a fantastic facility. A coach and driver take the campers to new destinations each day: Queenstown, Kawarau, Arrowtown, Cromwell and a walk to old Stewart Town. Some activities vary year to year but are always exciting new experiences such as paddleboarding or go-carting at Highlands and taking the coach on the track!
